Brian McMahon
Multi-instrumentalist Brian McMahon has over the past 25 years composed, performed, recorded, and produced several CDs, including Dance of the Dinosaurs, Butterfly’s Splendor, Soaring, Thread of Light, Hesternal Sky, and Espiegle. Drawing from a wide spectrum of musical styles, Brian’s music bridges elements as diverse as classical, jazz, avant-garde, folk, and rock. In addition to his CD projects, Brian appears on Iimaginary Animal’s Marisol album (2016) performing saxophone and other winds.
Brian’s composing and sound editing work can be found in the independent film, Starlings (1994 - soundtrack) and the documentary, After the Curtain (2015 – sound design and editing). Brian also has composed music for modern dance and local television commercials in the San Francisco Bay Area.
A graduate of New England Conservatory in saxophone performance, Brian studied with acclaimed saxophone and clarinet teacher Joseph Allard as well as Berkelee College of Music saxophone professor Joseph Viola.
